Toy Museum of Nuremberg

The task of this project was to create a new, attractive and at the same time playful and child-oriented way to experience the museum. For this purpose, having the target group in mind, both analog and digital media as well as a new visual identity for the upcoming exhibition had to be created. Certain parts of this museum experience should also be digitally accessible.

Concept
The idea for this project was born when I thought about "Where's Waldo" by Martin Handford which I liked very much when I was a kid. It is a series of children's puzzle books consisting of double-page spread illustrations depicting dozens or more people doing a variety of amusing things in a given location. Readers are challenged to find a character named Waldo hidden in the crowd.
This project makes use of Martin Handfords philosophy which requests the same things as I did in my project: it wants children to open their minds and to explore subjects (or, in my case, the presented objects more thoroughly. To be aware and to “see wonders”.
"I' d like to inspire children - to open their minds to explore subjects more -to just be aware of what's going on around them. I'd like them to see wonder in places that might not have occured to them."
- Martin Handford

To explore subjects, to be aware and to see wonder - became the cornerstones of my concept, visually and conceptionally.
